Today I went to the post office to send a parcel to my parents and to send some swaps on their way.
My parents live in The Netherlands and my dad loves his Yorkshire tea and pork scratchings. So every now and then a parcel goes their way and then they send one with Dutch food to the UK.
A good reason to send some swaps too.
One envelope to the USA, one envelope to Belgium, one card to the UK, one to Australia and one to China.
I found out that, within Europe, you can send up to 20 grams worth of cards in an envelope for the same price of one postcard.
Ofcourse, it was 25 grams and I had to pay £1.52 hehe
So thats about 4 postcards you can send for the price of 1.
Great!
Love that! So good to know for future envelope swaps.
Also, I had a message from the swapper from Japan. He received my letter and cards and he loved them. He complimented me on my handwriting and he said he could read everything I wrote to him. Bless!
It made me so happy!
He said he wants to swap more cards and letter. Yay!
And than Australia. I sawpped a Marimekko card (is it there yet???) for an Alice in Wonderland card. And we exchanged quite a few emails in between.
D's emails are hilarious! He is so funny!
I have sent him an Art Deco girl today.
She was one of my personal favourites but she was a bit spoilt. So she is on her way to Australia. I hope she will behave!
In town, we have our routine and we always walk in to Works. That is a British, cheap, bookshop.
My fiance loves the 3 for £5 books and I love the notebooks and cookbooks (and minions, and pens, and toys and and and)
But today there was something that caught his eye. I saw him grin and when he showed it to me I did a little dance.
It was a Titanic book with 3 posters and two postcards.
Whoooohooooo
I had to have it and he made me get it. I always feel guilty for getting presents all the time, and I get a lot of presents *blush*
He wouldn't let me put it back..
It is now on top of my bookcase with all my other prized possessions.
The posters are up on my Titanic wall and the postcards are in my album.
(see Titanic tab for photo's of these cards)
So all in all it was a pretty good day.
