About me
So.. about me and this blog.
I started this blog because I have become a Postcrossing addict.
It started in 2009 but because of lack of funds.. I had to stop for a bit. Sad times.
The cards are like little presents in my mailbox and I really missed sending and receiving them.
A lot has happened, like a move to a different country and an engagement (yay!) and now I'm back!
It felt so good to change my address from a Dutch one into an English one and put my status on ''active'' again.
This blog is about the cards I receive. I love to share the happiness and I decided to collect certain sets and/or artists and archive what I have so far.
The post about the cards I would like to receive will probably be under all the other posts I made. So please scroll down or go to the first page to read that post.
I keep all my cards in a postcard album. In The Netherlands I had them all up in my bathroom. Bright pink walls with coloured string and the cards.
But in this house I don't really have room to put them up, so I keep them safe in an album. Don't tell anyone but I look through that album at least a few times a week. Taking cards out, reading the back.
The hunt for cards to send is always on. Every shop, charity shop, secondhand bookshop, market stalls etc etc. It's like a little treasure hunt and sometimes I find gold!
Unfortunately, one of my fav shops is closing this weekend (30th August 2015), so I'm going to put a bid in on all his postcards. Wish me luck and I will update you.
I have a few obsessions.
The first one is Japan. I love absolutely everything about the country, the people, the culture and art. Ghibli!!!
You can send me a card from Japan, that you bought in Japan, that has to do with Japan, any time. Even if you don't live in Japan.
The Titanic is a second obsession. I have books, posters, photo's, board-games and even a real piece of coal from the actual ship.
Jack the Ripper is another big interest. I collect everything that can be found about him. I have to get a postcard yet though.
